Levitra Side Effects

Certain important things are supposed to be taken care of while taking Levitra, which otherwise can lead to severe side effects. Medications that contain nitrate in any form should not be taken while on you are taking Levitra, as it can cause severe decrease in your blood pressure, leading to fainting, stroke or heart attack. It is advisable to avoid taking Levitra if you are having any chest pain or heart problems.

You must immediately stop in between sexual activity if you experience dizziness; nausea; pain, numbness or tingling in your chest, arms, neck or jaw, as you can be suffering from severe side effects of the pill. Levitra is also known to decrease blood flow in the optic nerves, leading to sudden loss of vision, in some men who were suffering from heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, certain pre-existing eye disorder, those who smoked and those who were above 50 years of age.

Your doctor must also be informed about any other medical condition that you are suffering from, which include heart disease or heart rhythm problems; a recent history (in the past 6 months) of a heart attack, stroke, or heart rhythm disorder; congestive heart failure; high or low blood pressure; coronary artery disease; liver or kidney disease; blood cell disorder such as sickle cell anaemia, multiple myeloma, or leukaemia; bleeding disorder such as haemophilia; stomach ulcer; retinitis pigmentosa; physical deformity of the penis (such as Peyronie’s disease); and have been instructed not to have sexual intercourse for health reasons.

Even some women use Levitra to help them deal with their sexual problems, although the same is not recommended for them by FDA (Food and Drugs Association). Women who are pregnant or are breastfeeding should avoid taking Levitra without consultation with the doctor.

Levitra side effects

Levitra just like other medications, along with being beneficial, comes with certain side effects, of which some can be less severe while others can be quite severe. In case you experience signs of allergic reactions such as hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue or throat, you must immediately contact your doctor for further medical assistance and advice. Some of the serious side effects that you can experience on taking Levitra include sudden vision or hearing loss; chest pain or heavy feeling, pain spreading to the arm or shoulder; nausea; sweating; irregular heartbeat; swelling in your hands, ankles, or feet; vision changes; feeling light-headed, dizziness; or penis erection that is painful or lasts 4 hours or longer. Some of the less severe side effects that you can experience include warmth or redness in your face, neck, or chest; stuffy nose; headache; memory problems; stomach upset ; heart burn; diarrhoea; and back pain.

In the case of changes in your vision, you can experience sensitivity to light, blurred vision or blue / green tinge around the objects. You can suffer from this serious side effect if you are already suffering from heart disease, diabetes, high cholesterol, certain problems such as crowded disk, high blood pressure, if you smoke and are above the age of 50 years.

Levitra storage

Levitra pill must be stored at a room temperature of 25 degrees Celsius and be kept away from moisture and light. It should not be stored in a bathroom and kept away from the reach of children or pets. If the medication is expired and needs to be discarded, then it should be done as instructed and not flushed in to a drain.
