Impotence Causes

Amongst many disturbing sexual problems is erectile dysfunction (ED), also known as impotence.  It i s a problem in which, a man is unable to achieve or maintain an erection. This leads to problems in the relationship between partners, even leading to adverse circumstances such as a break up or an emotional conflict between the two.  Impotence happens when the chambers of the penis, the corpora cavernosa chambers do not get enough blood supply. When this happens, the penis does not get inflated, the inflation of the penis is the real cause behind an erection.  Many different causes may lead to impotence; every individual may be suffering from impotence because of different reasons. But before we move on to the causes of impotence, let’s find out the types of impotence.

Types of impotence

Basically, a man can suffer from two different kinds of physical impotence. One in which, a man is unable to maintain an erection for the entire sexual intercourse. The other type is when a man is unable to achieve an erection. This type cannot lead to sexual intercourse at all. In the former type of impotence, a man can get an erection, the complete inability of getting an erection is not there, however having sex with this problem is difficult as the erection doesn’t last longer.  Another type of impotence is psychological impotence.  Here are some of the causes that lead to impotence.

Causes of impotence

Alcohol addiction: People who are addicted to drinking alcohol on a regular basis may get impotence. This is because with alcohol abuse there can be several metabolism and hormonal changes.  These may cause impotence. Smoking is also a leading cause of impotence. So if you do not want to be impotent, stay away from addiction.

Hormonal changes: At certain age, all go through hormonal changes and the changes in the testosterone levels. Both of these can lead to impotence.  When the testosterone levels and the hormonal changes happen inside the body, the internal functioning of the body is hindered, some of these changes can hinder the proper erections.

Physical damage: Some physical injuries to the penis or the genital areas including the testicles may be a factor causing impotence.  Apart from that, prostrate surgery or penile surgeries can also lead to improper erectile function. Spinal cord injuries, pelvic injuries, bladder injuries or testicular injuries can be a cause for impotence too.

Vascular problems: Since erections are dependent on the proper functioning of the circulatory system, if your circulatory system has any problem, the erectile function may stop. These problems include artherosclerosis, vascular diseases, arteriosclerosis and hypertension.

Diabetes: Diabetes can lead to the thickening of the walls of the arteries or heart disorders. These disorders may cause erection problems.

Other factors: Apart from these, some other factors that result to impotence include:

Neurological disorders, nervous problems, stress, fatigue, anxiety, stress, depression, previous sexual encounters and guilt.

Impotence can be treated with the use of male enhancement drugs but treating it as fast as possible is recommended so that it doesn’t get late to do so. With these drugs, you can enjoy a normal sex life and also increase your sexual performance.
