Tags: ,

In males, the most common sexual problem is impotence. This is also known as erectile dysfunction. This sexual problem may worsen with age, and is equally frustrating for men as well as their sex partners. If any symptoms are observed, than the best course of action would be to act fast.

The condition is typically characterized as the inability of men to achieve and maintain an erection firm enough to partake in any sexual activity. Impotence can occur-irrespective of age. However, sufferers may become more susceptible with age.

The inability to attain an erection momentarily, is not uncommon, and can occur due to excessive stress or fatigue at work or at home. However it should not occur frequently. If it does, then you must receive treatment

There are a number of disparate causes of impotence among men, including both physical and psychological factors. Some conditions like diabetes, Parkinson’s disease, high blood pressure, kidney disorders, high cholesterol, side effects of prescribed drugs, and heart diseases can all result in male impotence.

Men can also suffer impotence due to psychological problems like stress, anxiety, depression, tiredness, sexual boredom, worrying about poor sexual satisfaction, and problems in a relationship.

Impotence – What is Erectile Dysfunction Problem

Tags: ,

Impotence which is more commonly known as erectile dysfunction is one of the most common sexual health problem found in men.  In simple words, impotence can be defined as inability to have a proper and satisfactory sexual intercourse because of lack in achieving and or maintaining an erection.  Impotence is a condition common in most men and they may have for a short period of time or once in a while. It is most common in men above 65 but can occur at any age. Most of the young men experience impotence problems because of stress, pressure and anxiety.

If we look into some of the statistics that most men don’t know about impotence is that approximately 2 to 2.5 million male suffer from it in UK alone. As a matter of fact, one or more men in every ten suffer from impotence at some point in time in their life. Impotence is not usually a long term problem and its outlook in men is quite positive. The problem can be overcome with the help of effective treatments like Viagra, Cialis and Levitra impotence pills or through some effective counselling or therapy.

What is the exact problem?

Achieving a proper and longer erection is one of the most complicated bodily process and so it is equally easy for it to get disrupted and cause impotence.  There are two chambers called corpus cavernosa in a penis. The walls of these chambers expand to allow more blood to rush to the penis when one is aroused and as a result the chambers get filled and penis is erected.

Two natural body elements that most often cause the impotence problem are called PDE-5 and cGMP. The walls of the corpus cavernosa are controlled by cGMP nucleotide which tells it to relax and accommodate the increased blood flow. PDE-5 is the enzyme that naturally breaks down cGMP. The erection process can be disrupted when balance between the two gets unstable and one may need to get impotence treatment.
