- Roses – Done, overdone to the point of being boring
- Chocolates – Okay if you have something else besides it, only them, unacceptable
- Cuddly toys – Do you’ll really think girls sleep with them? They are going to her niece
If you really want to do something that will make your girl feel as if she is the luckiest girl alive – here are a few ideas from 3 women who say they are one of the lucky few because their partners put thought in making them happy on a very special day.
“Just out of nowhere, my ex came to meet me on Valentine’s Day, I don’t know how he guessed I was alone, but I sure was at the flat doing nothing when he came. We spoke about all the months we were without each other and though we didn’t have sex that night, it was a night to remember. It was the beginning of a very good friendship and I am happy that I let him in that night. He was there for me because he knew I needed someone and though we had broken up, we both still respected each other. Valentine’s Day is not only for lovers, it is for love – be it for your family, your friends or even your neighbour. Even though we are not lovers any more, we still love each other and on Valentine’s celebrate that love without wine, flowers, candles and chocolates but with beers, x-box, pizzas and watching our favourite movies.”

“Our sex life was going from bad to worse and honestly sex was once a year wonder for us. I repeatedly told him that we should see a doctor but all I got was “everything’s fine”. Then on this Valentine’s, he was being extra sweet, bought me gifts, took me shopping and asked me to buy any dress I liked and also paid for some really expensive lingerie. He had even gotten some really romantic DVDs and after we watched two movies back to back, we had the most amazing night ever. He made love to me like never before. More than his sexual performance and energy, I was surprised to see him last so long. I didn’t know it then but later he told me that he was trying some natural male enhancement pills. He told me he had applied some delay cream on V-Day that helped him to last for over 30 minutes. After that night, we were at it almost every other day and I still cherish that Valentine’s Day when everything changed for the better.”

“I have always prided myself for not being over-sensitive like my mom and sister and was happy with my relationship with my boyfriend of 2 years. We had not done anything special on Valentine’s Day last year and spent the day at home like any other holidays. I didn’t expect anything this year as well. But come morning and I wake up with a strange smell in my house. I see a path with Snowdon lily (he knows I think roses are overrated and to this date I don’t know how he got them) leading to the bath. I see there Florentyna Bath Crystals and Mood Rescue Foam Bath Gift Set and a note saying “Pick one and I will smell and tell you how our day is going to be”. I picked Ylang exotic patchouli sensuous sweet orange luscious lotion. Then I found another note under my toothbrush saying that breakfast is ready. I was so happy, dying to see him but when I went to the kitchen, I could see him nowhere. He had disappeared but left a recorder for me, when I switched it on, it was him singing – “Wonderwall – Oasis”. Though I was not a sentimentalist, I had tears in my eyes. There were plenty more surprises and small gifts around the house. He has actually woken up the whole night to do all these things. When I asked him why did he do so many things, he said, “I wanted to see the other side of you, the one that will teach our daughter that fairy tales do exist” and just like that he bent on his knees and asked me to marry him. Fairy tales do exist!
